Risk Communication: Risk communication is an interactive process of exchange of information and opinion among individuals, groups, and institutions. It involves multiple messages about the nature of risk and other messages, not strictly about risk, that express concerns, opinions, or reactions to risk messages or to legal and institutional arrangements for risk management (US National Research Council).

Risk: Uncertainty that affects the achievement of objectives in a positive or negative way.

Risk Management: Systematic identification, assessment and controlling of risks.

Knowledge Visualization: Knowledge visualization designates all graphic means that can be used to construct and convey complex insights. Example of knowledge visualization formats are concept maps, interactive visual metaphors, toulmin maps, or value charts.
